Infuriating customer service response

A simple typo at the beginning of my reservation process wound up costing me hours of frustration with (so called) customer service (there isn't any) and $187. to fix. The response to my problem was the most infuriating experience I have ever had. Their call center (and I use that term loosely) could not be worse, the most inept people I have ever come across, and it would have been better if they could SPEAK and UNDERSTAND ENGLISH. I do not have the time to go into details, since it cost me the better part of the day to rectify an error that could have been avoided by a simple disclosure at the start.

I paid for the insurance for any changes or cancellation of the trip. We noticed that my last name is wrong. I called to change it to the correct name. They had been hold for over 45 minutes and they want to charge me $25!!! This is an absolute rip off for two seconds to change my name its not like they printed off any documents to give to me! It is 3 days before the trip. And last but least the customer service is rude! Headquarters they dont answer the phone. I am shocked its still in business

Loss of money due to covid had to cancel trip

I purchased an all inclusive trip for punta cana on Jan 31, 2020. My daughter (college student) was going to be on spring break the week of 3/15 and wanted to take a trip with me.

We booked an all-inclusive trip with the flight and hotel (all inclusive stay) in Punta Cana. Airport transfers and baggage fees also were paid.

Right before the trip date, the US was shutting down travel due to COVID, as were other countries. On 3/16/20, the trip had to be cancelled. Travel date was for 3/18 through 3/21.

I called apple vacations on their hotline, waited over 3 hours to get an agent, and then had this trip cancelled. At that time, I was told I was getting a travel voucher that is valid for one year. I saw the credit on the site at that time, so I didn't pursue it further. I knew that the travel industry was hurting, and I did like to travel, so I should have been able to use the travel voucher.

When I went to check again on 8/31/2020, it was not there anymore on the site on my account.

I called on 9/1/2020 (waited over 2 hours to get an agent again) and I was informed that it had expired - there was no notification that it was expiring or had expired.

I never got any of the travel services due to COVID. I don't see why my money wasn't refunded.

I am extremely shocked that there hasn't been any type of compensation made for this scenario.

Stealing completely fraudulent company

I booked a hotel only portion and realized that I could get a better rate almost immediately. So I called back to cancel well within the 24 hour window and at least 3 weeks prior to arrival .

Told I would get a refund only after many hours on hold and talking with numerous different representatives. Completely fraudulent and still no refund 3 weeks later. This is stealing and they are a bunch of crooks. No customer service, reps lie over and over again to cover their assess.

This company will surely go under. Meanwhile I am filing a fraudulent charge report with American Express and letting the IRS know that they keep peoples money even after cancellation.

CROOKS!!!

If you get your refund, shut up. If not, pursue it and let us know how that turns out.

Do not act like some crazy crank to the IRS. You've blown the entire process by doing nothing but calling.

I wish schools would teach practical everyday business requirements such as what you described. They do not, but at least the students learn all about Martin Luther King ,oops, no, they're off that day ...

We booked a trip with apple vacations then canceled it because of Covid-19. They charged us about $700 in penalties after spending hours (not less than 10 hours over 3-4 phone calls). They sent me emails documenting that our penalty will only be about $200 but did NOT honor that. When we went to rebook they still kept the $700 penalties. We will NEVER EVER use apple vacations again. Shame on them for charging penalties during the Covid-19 pandemic. They lost our business for $700.

The website looks great and they will say what you want to hear; the final product is far from where its supposed to be. Bad flights, bad hotels and really bad customer service.

My experience with apple was great while booking, best service ever, up until my vacation started. American Airlines didn't have staff to put everyone on the plane, kiosk were down AAA could not get us all on a flight for 48 hrs later. I purchased tickets with delta left the next morning. All day I spent contacting apple and tripmate with NO HELP. AAA refunded apple my tickets and apple is not giving the money back. Tripmate apple travel insurance denied my claim yesterday

Booked a trip to Cancun, MX through Apple Vacations that nothing was really as promised by Apple Vacations. First off, I booked a trip to Cancun for myself, my boyfriend, and my mom.

Right off the bat we got screwed out of a day of our vacation and spent it at LAX because even though we arrived to the airport 3 hours early as suggested we missed our flight. Very much related to the idea that we didn't receive 1 of 3 boarding passes via email and were stuck in line after line trying to obtain the missing boarding pass. So the next flight didn't depart until 11:21pm. Our original flight departed at 9:55 am.

This ended up costing me extra money due to the fact that I booked a hotel room for us to hang out in for a couple hours until our flight boarded. And we lost a whole day in cancun. And we're so exhausted by the time we arrived in cancun the next morning that we slept the better part of the day on our second day. Onto the resort, we stayed at Riu Caribe all inclusive.

It was supposed to have laundry facilities which it did not have, and the front desk staff was pretty useless. The rooms were in disrepair. Using the hair dryer blew breakers to the whole room. And the floors were so dirty I didn't even like to walk around barefoot..

The shower head constantly turned towards the wall. And made it extremely difficult to shower. And the toilets clogged up several times during our stay from flushing a tissue that I blew my nose with once. Onto the food, it was absolutely terrible.

And believe me I tried enough of it to try and find something worth eating. None of it was good. Every meal I would finally just get tired of trying different foods. Never full, never satisfied, believe me, I tried.

The front desk staff as 'for mentioned was useless. At one point we asked them for some anti-diahrea medication and was told that they did not provide medical services. Umm, what? The front desk staff suggested we take a bus that was supposed to be running 24hrs to a pharmacy to to get some.

Long story short, the staff told us they accept american currency, that wasn't entirely true, we got kicked off the bus 7 miles from our resort during a thunderstorm and 89 degrees outside at night and ended up having to walk all the way back to our resort.. I hate to say it, but I'm really disappointed at how our trip turned out, and I don't think we should be disappointed with the money I spent.

I had a trip scheduled prior to covid but had to cancel due to it. I tried to reschedule 1 year later and how awful. You can never speak to the same rep, they will never give you a direct line so if you call back you must go through a central line and they have to "investigate" your prior calls and scheduling. This trip was not a pleasure at all due to their horrible processing. Never utilize Apple vacations!

First Apple Vacations is the most difficult company to deal with. Nothing is easy with them.

Extremely long hold times then even when you reach a person its so difficult to get them to do anything. Even if you want to change your date or ANYTHING on your reservation they charge you hundreds of dollars! Secondly, dont bother staying at the Breezes Bahamas. At best 3 apples.

4+ apples is a lie! Its like staying at a Best Western. Extremely outdated, very understaffed and nothing they say is open really is. I called a week before my arrived to confirm the kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling equipment was available, I was told yes but the rock climbing and tapeeze wasnt, ok fine.

Upon arrival no water equipment is available. We were told because of the government. That was a lie. Other resorts have their equipment out.

No cable channels like HBO SHOWTIME or STARZ even though its on the channel list, only local. Its like they cut corner where they could. Please tell me what I paid 8k for? Completely overpriced.

I could have over looked the outdatedness of the hotel but other things made me angry. The food is decent. The only thing I love about this stay is the water pressure and the beautiful beach. Chair are broken and moldy.

How about invest in a pressure washer and clean it up! Everyone is very nice except for the two make bartenders we had on Sunday. Rude! Cody is the best bartender around!

If you dont mind low quality but overpaying then stay here. Definitely didnt meet my expectations at all. Not for the 8k I paid for 4 people. Stay at SLS, Hilton, Baha Mar or Atlantis!

Refusal of Travel Credit

Due to a car accident (no fault our ours) and finding out my husband had cancer, we were unable to take our trip. I called, but because the accident happened within the 3 day cancellation period, Apple Vacations denies any sort of Credit.

We feel this is extremely unjust due to the fact it WAS AN ACCIDENT, and we couldn't travel. One Apple rep told me to send in our private medical history from the accident, and she would see that Credit was given. This has been going on since May of this year. CLEARLY IF there was no accident, we would have gone on our vacation.

We are long time Apple Vacation people... MANY vacations have been booked. We THOUGHT Apple was better than this.

So anyway, Apple vacations has my husband's medical records floating around who knows where.... and for no reason apparently.

Preferred solution: A telephone call 941-786-6777. I'd really like to discuss this entire situation with someone who can give us Credits. This was a situation not from our choice to cancel.

User's recommendation: DON'T BOOK with Apple Vacations because they have NO sympathy of ACCIDENTS which are out of our control and CLEARLY have no regard for HIPA rules and regulations.

Did you take out insurance? If not, do you expect Apple to eat the cost of the airline tickets and the hotel?

It's not their fault either that you were in an accident and a family member has cancer. Why do you think they would refund the money when they would have to pay for the air tickets and hotel? They're brokers for the airlines and hotels, they don't own them and they have to pay them regardless.

Since you obviously failed to take out insurance, it's easy to put the burden on Apple rather than your own misfortune. Right?

Change fly and delay our stay

We are here in the Ohare airport in Chicago since 3am , Spirit canceled the fly to fort Laurent Florida and our connection to the fly to Cancun also was cancel so they give us another fly with one stop in Denver , instead to be in Cancun Mexico at 11:50am we going to be there according with them at 6:50pm , we loose the all day in the airport, its not fear, I did pay extra money to be there early, please contact me I need some kind of compensation or refund some money for this disaster, Thank you, Ive wait for your answer.
